Dealorigin started in 2015 as a small set of workshop materials used internally by a group of developers working on data pipeline integrations. Over 9 years that material was tested, revised, and expanded through more than 140 workshop cycles across 18 countries.
The subject matter narrowed deliberately. As AI tooling matured, the demand for practical API knowledge — not conceptual familiarity, but actual working skill — became the clearest gap in available training.
Every assignment on the platform reflects a real scenario encountered in that development work. The exercises are not simulations of practice — they are practice, adapted for a learning context.
People behind the workshops
A small team with a narrow focus. Each person works on the subject they teach.
Petra has designed 34 distinct workshop modules since joining in 2018. Her background is in systems integration — she spent 7 years building API layers for logistics platforms before moving into education full-time.
Yuki builds the interactive exercises and manages the technical infrastructure that lets participants work with live API endpoints during sessions. She has written over 200 individual coding tasks across the platform.
Workshops are delivered by a rotating group of 11 practising developers. Each facilitator is selected based on direct experience with the specific API category covered in that session — not general teaching credentials.
How the work is structured
Assignments before explanation
Each module opens with a task, not a lecture. Participants attempt the work first — typically a 45-minute hands-on exercise using a real API endpoint. The explanation follows, grounded in what they just encountered.
No fixed schedule required
All workshop materials are asynchronous. Participants from 18 countries work across 11 time zones — a fixed schedule would exclude most of them. Live sessions are optional and recorded within 2 hours of completion.

Feedback on actual output
Submitted work is reviewed against a rubric built from real API integration criteria — not abstract learning objectives. Participants receive specific notes on their code, not general encouragement.
03The subject stays narrow
Dealorigin does not teach general programming or broad AI concepts. The entire curriculum covers one area: working with APIs in AI-adjacent projects — authentication, rate handling, response parsing, error recovery.
04Built-in collaboration tools
Each workshop includes a shared workspace where participants can review each other's solutions. Seeing 12 different approaches to the same API problem is often more instructive than any single explanation.
